Conclusion
The Halliburton Endarterectomy
Catheter has been developed in prototype form. This atherectomy catheter
has been used to remove atheroma in human coronary artery necropsy
specimens with a 90% success rate in fibro/fatty atheromatous
lesions. The Halliburton Catheter has been used in anaesthetized normal
roosters with no adverse effects in 8/8 cases. Atherectomy on occluded
femoral arteries was successful.
